Jay Giri, MD, MPH, is an Interventional Cardiologist, Chief of Interventional Cardiology & Director of the Cardiovascular Catheterization Laboratories at the University of Pennsylvania, and the Director of the Penn Cardiovascular Outcomes, Quality & Evaluative Research Center. His clinical interests include complex coronary artery intervention, venous thromboembolism, endovascular denervation therapies, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
He performs clinical outcomes and comparative effectiveness research related to emerging endovascular technologies and interventional pharmacotherapies as well as health services and policy research related to cardiovascular medicine. He also leads several mutli-site clinical trials of novel interventional therapies. His original research has been published in JAMA, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and Circulation among others.
Dr. Giri gained a BA in Economics, an MPH, and an MD from Northwestern University. He completed a residency in internal medicine at MGH and fellowships in cardiovascular diseases, coronary and structural heart intervention, and vascular medicine/intervention at Penn and MGH.
