Andrew J.P. Klein, M.D., FACC, FSVM, FSCAI, earned his bachelor's degree from University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his residency in internal medicine at University of California San Francisco. He then completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at University of Colorado Health Sciences and a fellowship in clinical research at the University of Wisconsin.
Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. Klein was in practice at the John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis where he served as the Director of Cardiovascular Disease Research and the Director of the Endovascular Laboratory. While there, he was named for the last 3 years as one of St. Louis's Top Doctors by Saint Louis Magazine. Board certified in endovascular medicine, vascular medicine, interventional cardiology and cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine, Dr. Klein is an fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), th Society of Vascular Medicine (FSVM), and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention.(FSCAI). An expert in complex coronary and peripheral intervention, he is a member of several SCAI committees and has served on the board of SCAI and the PERT consortium. Dr. Klein has been at Piedmont since 2015 and has severed at the site-PI for numerous clinical trials and as National PI for a recent thrombectomy trial. He has published over 100 articles and countless book chapters. Dr. Klein has been an staunch advocate for patients with PAD and for addressing the socioeconomic disparities that impact patients with PAD. He has advocated on the Hill as part of SCAI in Washington, DC and is committed to improving the lives of all patients.
