Vascular Surgery
Koen Deloose, MD, is a vascular surgeon. He earned his medical degree magna cum laude from Catholic University, Louvain, Belgium. He completed his surgical training in Belgium and joined the staff at AZ Sint-Blasius in 2002, where he is since 2016 Head of the Department of Vascular Surgery. Dr Deloose is Board Member and Treasurer of Royal Belgian Society of Vascular Surgery.
As an active researcher, Dr Deloose has authored and co-authored more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, more than 10 chapters in orthopedic, vascular and endovascular books and many posters and papers in conference proceedings. He is member of the International Editorial Board, Endovascular Section, of the Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery as well as Editorial member of the Journal of Critical Limb Ischemia.
Dr Deloose has delivered more than 750 lectures and has served as organizer, moderator or panelist at more than 200 National, European, and Global congresses. He performed many live-cases at LINC (Leipzig, Germany), CICE (Sao Paolo, Brazil) and VIVA (Las Vegas, US). He is founding co-Course Director of Paris Vascular Insights congress (Paris, France) and Scientific Committee member of EVC congress (Maastricht, The Netherlands).
His Clinical Trial Research experience was built up as co-founding director of ID3-Medical (Dendermonde, Belgium) where he was involved in several sponsored and physician-initiated pre-clinical and clinical trials in the vascular field. Since 2026, Dr Deloose is co-founder and Chief Medical Officer at Kando Research, a global CRO for vascular disease Research.
He is a teacher, proctor, co-investigator and Advisory Board member for several global medical device companies and serves as an endovascular trainer in ORSI (Melle, Belgium).
